Increasing Representation on behalf of BME communities

        delegates

Bromley BME Forum was established in 2010 to provide an effective voice for BME communities in the London Borough of Bromley. By engaging organisations, groups and individuals, it seeks to influence policy and service provision; increase representation and engagement in local decision-making and to promote and advance the interests, welfare and economic and social well-being of all Black and Minority Ethnic communities.

 Objectives:

To achieve these goals, the forum aims to:

  • Promote networking, collaboration and partnership amongst the BME Voluntary and Community Sector organisations; and with mainstream and statutory agencies to enhance the quality of consultation and the effectiveness of BME representation.
  • Facilitate partnership work amongst BME organisations, community groups and individuals to provide a unified voice for the Bromley BME Sector.
  • Promote and address equality of opportunities within Bromley.
  • Raise the profile of and address the general and specific issues affecting BME organisations, community groups and individuals within Bromley. These issues include but are not limited to education, community safety, children and young people, economic development, and health, housing and social care.
  • Attract resources to Bromley's BME organisations and community groups and support their delivery of services.
  • Lead the planning of collective Forum and network meetings on general and specific issues affecting BME organisations, community groups and individuals.
