Behaviour Management and Youth Arts
27th March 2012, 9.45 am- 4 pm, SoundWorks, Bristol
This one day course is essential training for anyone working within youth arts, but especially for those who are working directly with young people at risk. Undertaking practical workshops and activities with young people requires a broad understanding of youth culture and the issues surrounding young people’s lives. There are added pressures of working directly with young people who are already or may be at risk of social exclusion, one of which is having the skills, knowledge and experience to be able to manage their behaviour effectively and responsively.
This course will discuss the practical aspects of behaviour management, look specifically at health and safety issues and risk assessment and will aim to promote a style of engaging with young people that encourages positive behaviour.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course and a wealth of practical resources. There is currently a special rate of £75 for bookings made before the 31st January 2012; fees will then range from £110-£150.
