It is ideal for people that are new or fairly new to monitoring and evaluation and/or for those people that can only spare a day out of the office. This course is not recommended for participants that have attended one of our other core courses such as the How to demonstrate outcomes - 2 days (previously known as the Foundation course in monitoring and evaluation) or the How to demonstrate outcomes - 3 days (previously known as the Advanced course in monitoring and evaluation). |

The course will cover all of the essential information you need to develop a monitoring and evaluation framework to measure and demonstrate effectiveness.
Course aims
By the end of this course, participants will have increased their understanding of:
- monitoring and evaluation concepts and terminology
- the benefits of an outcomes approach
- how to set aims and objectives for a project
- the difference between outputs and outcomes
- how to set output indicators and outcome indicators for a basic monitoring system
- some simple ways to collect information.
