Hey everyone!

Just looking for a bit of advice/direction really. I was unsuccessful after going for a job as a community fundraising assistant as I didn't have any experience in charity banking. The lady at the interview mentioned that there was a particular way of banking for charities?

Has anyone got any information/names of books or websites that I could check out?

I've applied to volunteer for two different organisations as a finance assistant, so I've tackled it from that angle already.

I'd really appreciate any advice,

CAF (the Charities Aid Foundation) might be a good place to start...

Hi Stef

Given that you need to look at the banking from a community fundraising perspective, then the best thing to look at is probably the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Fundraising Practice, in particular the one on Handling Cash Donations which might have been what they were looking for an understanding of at the interview:
