hello there, what ideas have you tried already? Are you raising money from your friends and family or your local community? Would be good to know so I could offer some ideas.

I'm trying to raise money for a trip or commission based fundraising of our non-profit organization, Birbhum, India and also I need a consultant for raising funds on the behalf of our organization. Anyone ever done this before who can give me some tips?

When you start running low on ideas, (from experience) your friends can get a little annoyed of you pestering them.

This site www.banterousgiving.com

Lets people dare each other to do silly things, whilst raising money for charity!

It's pretty viral at some universities as students love doing dares!

Event fundraising ideas are often neglected but are by far the easiest way to raise funds.  Race Nights are fantastic fundraisers, and very popular in the UK. The race nights used to be with horse races but times have changed and cartoon snail race night packs are the modern equivalent.  The  packs,  - are easy to run and extremely entertaining.  Check out the snail racing race nights of Fundeo.  With  little effort you can raise £1000 or more in a couple of hours.

Hi everyone,

I know this doesn't apply to all, but one way of getting your friends to sponsor you without having to ask for their money is to ask for them to do certain actions instead; its especially useful for those interested raising awareness fr social or environmental causes. Check it out here http://vimeo.com/36015150#at=0

Hi, One great way of fundraising is through personalised wristbands. You can personalise your own wristbands at www.personalise-wristbands.com for your charity and not only raise money by doing so but also awareness as the wristbands are worn and displayed on your wrists! If you contact us direct, we work with charities so that they can optimise their profits. Best of luck!

Depending on the time scale your projects have for raising the funding levels you require, I would suggest you check out crowdfunding. My site has a list of platforms to look at: http://minivation.org/workslist.html

The list needs improving, in that it is not very interactive, it is just a list at the moment, but for the 3rd sector there are some really great crowdfunding platforms out there (i.e. buzzbnk or crowdfundSW1).

I should also say that crowdfunding is not an 'easy' option and should be planned properly before diving in... but I might just have the right tool for anyone interested, should be ready for release in January.

But if I can help anyone with tips and advice please don't hesitate to get in touch with me through this forum or via email etc (see my profile).

Regards,

Chris

Yes I work on a commission based income through a company and we earn a percentage but the total for the non-profit and all their members, and/or drivers adds up to be quite beneficial.

It's not a one-time effort with this non-profit fundraiser but a residual. So the work is well worth the pay both for myself and for the Organization.

If you would like to speak with me - please feel free to contact me because we are always looking for new people and new organizations - we even drive it if there isn't anyone to work the fundraiser for them! That simple.

Thanks,

Valarie
