Hi my name is Denise I am a single parent of an 11-year-old boy. Andrew has recently taken up skateboarding as a hobby.  It has became quite apparent to me that most of the areas currently used for skateboarding are not designed for that purpose and due to lack of funding have become quiet run down and unsafe for the youngsters using them.

With your help I would like to rectify this situation.  In my search for somewhere Andrew can use I stumbled across a site in Gateshead, Dynamix has a large indoor skating area, which is supervised thus keeping the youngsters safe. This hall is ran by volunteers, people like me who wish to put something back into the community while trying to keep the kids off the streets and out of trouble doing something they enjoy.

Any ideas on fundraising would be welcome.

How about getting the kids involved in fundraising? What do they want to do?

Is there is a local cool skating shop who would give you some sponsorship?
