Good News at last!! Charity Shop Radio has just been launched by the guys who gave you Instore Music Solutions, a totally PRS/PPL fee free radio service. www.charityshopradio.co.uk is dedicated to giving quality music from unsigned bands with regular announcements to help increase your takings. Many options available to get the music into your shop, broadband preferred but other systems available.

Checkout the website for more details and start saving today.

Thanks Colin and Julie Wilkinson

Thanks for posting information about your service. We don't usually accept adverts on this forum but are waving the rule in this case. It would be great if you could share more of your insights into how charity shops can use sound / music / announcements to increase their takings either in this thread or as a howto guide.

Do other charity shop staff have experience of this they could share? Does appropriate background music make a difference?

@OxfamDalston said via Twitter: Definitely! Without music our shop is big and creepy.

Found this interesting research from Music Works about the impact of music in shops, no mention specifically about charity shops though.
