There was a question at the event about contacting the charity commission which I think could have been better focussed.  As a trustee you are accountable for the decisions you make.  If a decision is troubling you and you are woried that CC may investigate, then you should be looking at the substance of the issue and whether you have made the right decision, not considering whether asking them something may trigger regulatory investigation.  If you are worried about a regukatory response then as a trustee, it should be more likely, not less, that you ask for CC guidance.  The more open and accountable you are about the problem the better.
